Bill Aimed at Massive Child Identity Theft Problem Sent to Governor

SACRAMENTO – The California State Legislature today took a huge stride toward protecting children, who are 50 times more likely to have their identities stolen than adults, from cyber thieves, including those who commit so-called “friendly fraud.”

CSU Channel Islands Launches new Engineering School thanks to Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin

(Camarillo) — When Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin (D-Thousand Oaks) was elected, she met with CSU Channel Islands President Rush to ask him what the needs of the University were. His response was that the needs of the community were for an engineering program. With the needs of the community identified, Asm. Irwin worked with stakeholders and legislators to secure money in the California State Budget to provide funding for the creation of a new school of engineering and 'Mechatronics degree'. (Oxnard) - Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin (D-Thousand Oaks) promised that she would fight every day to find solutions to the challenges facing Ventura County. The Brine Line solution proves that she meant what she said. Audit Reveals $28 Million Spent on Failed Electronic Medical Record Program in California Veteran Homes

(Sacramento, CA) – An audit conducted at the request of Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin (D-Thousand Oaks) was released today and concluded that the $28 million Enterprise-Wide Veterans Home Information System (EwVHIS) developed for the Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) to integrate medical records amongst the eight state-run veteran homes failed to meet any of its core objectives.
