One-Stop Permit Centers
Free in-person county services continue to be available for residents impacted by the Palisades and Eaton fires. Learn about the rebuilding process, how to obtain entitlements, permits and inspections, and get answers to any rebuilding questions.

Federal Assistance through FEMA
The period to apply for federal disaster assistance has ended.
If you have an approved application, it is important to stay in touch with FEMA by signing up for updates by email, phone calls, and text messages so you don't miss out on important updates or additional assistance.
Remember to remain alert and protect yourself against scams. FEMA will typically contact you these ways:
- Emails from noreply-ecorr@dhs.gov or fema-automessaging@fema.intouchconnections.com or fema-automessaging@fema.dhs.gov.
- Calls from 1-800-621-3362 or 1-866-863-8673. Sometimes FEMA may call with a recorded voice message to give you information about your application.
- Texts from 43362 or 91908.
FEMA Transitional Sheltering
FEMA's Transitional Sheltering Assistance continues for survivors, allowing for short-term, emergency sheltering options in participating hotels.
In order to receive sheltering assistance, you must have a FEMA registration ID and approval from FEMA.

Assistance for Businesses
Businesses impacted by fires can contact the Business License Section at (213) 974-2011 or email businesslicense@ttc.lacounty.gov.

IRS Tax Deadline Extension
The Internal Revenue Service is extending the deadline filing deadline for taxpayers and businesses impacted by Southern California wildfires to October 15, 2025.
Taxpayers have the option of reconstructing records after a disaster. The more accurately a loss is estimated, the more loan and/or grant money may be available. The IRS may waive the $43 user fee to obtain transcripts and returns. You must write the appropriate disaster designation, such as "Palisades Fire", in red letters across the top of Forms 4506-T and 4506.
Reputable Contractors
Remember to utilize a licensed contractor. Impacted residents are encouraged to utilize The Contractors State License Board (CSLB) website to verify licensing information.
Small Business Administration Loans & Appointments
Your small business may be eligible for assistance by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Schedule an appointment to get help with an application.
Misfortune and Calamity Tax Relief
Property damaged or destroyed by windstorms and/or wildfires may qualify for temporary property tax relief through the Los Angeles County Assessor Misfortune and Calamity program.
Free Access to Vital and Property Records
Impacted residents can request free vital and property records, such as birth, death and marriage certificates. Contact (800) 201-8999 and select Option 1, followed by Option 2 or email recorder@rrcc.lacounty.gov.
EDD Unemployment Benefits Information
Impacted residents may be eligible for a waiting week waiver.
Extensions for employers to file and pay payroll taxes may also be available.
Mental Health Support
Natural disasters can take a toll on mental health. Even if you are not directly impacted, you may know someone who is. Mental health services are available.
Mandatory One-Year Moratorium on Insurance Non-Renewals and Cancellations
California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara issued a mandatory one-year moratorium on insurance non-renewals and cancellations for zip codes in areas directly affected by the Eaton and Palisades fires.
Search your Zip code and fire name.
Consumer Alert: Wildfire Recovery Insurance Information
The California Department of Insurance is on alert for potential fraud and illegal actions targeting survivors of wildfires. The Department has posted a Don't Get Scammed after a Disaster resource urging consumers not to rush into decisions and report any suspected illegal actions. Learn how to avoid scams and fraud during the insurance claim process.
