On occasion, our district is impacted by weather events that have cause flooding, mudslides and other natural disasters. Below is a list of links from different cities in the district that contain information about disaster relief, updates and other pertinent information.
Ventura County
Ready Ventura County
The Office of Emergency Services (OES) is responsible for countywide disaster planning, mitigation, response and recovery activities. Learn how to make a plan, prepare an emergency supply kit and stay informed on the different types of hazards and emergencies.
Ventura County Alert Emergency Notification System
In an emergency, it is an important to stay up to the date and receive free notifications in real time. Sign up for VC Alerts to receive urgent messages, including evacuation warnings, evacuation orders severe weather advisories, policing incidents, missing at-risk individuals and more.

Interface 211 Ventura County (211VC) is a program of Interface Children & Family Services, the most comprehensive information and referral service for local residents. 211 is available by phone, text and web 24 hours a day, 7 a days week. During disasters, 211Now offers alerts and resources.
Los Angeles County
Alert LA County
Alert LA County is an opt-in mass notification system available to residents and businesses in Los Angeles County. Sign up to receive notifications when an emergency or natural disaster occurs.

Earthquake Preparedness

- MyShake is an earthquake early warning (EEW) system that detects earthquakes before shaking is felt.
- Practice Drop, Cover, and Hold On
- Set up drills with your family, friends and coworkers.
- Participate in the annual Great California Shakeout.
- Make an Emergency Plan
- Create a family emergency plan.
- Prepare a supply kit with enough food and water for several days, including a battery powered radio, flashlights and a first aid kit.

Landslide/Mudslide Preparedness
- Assemble an emergency preparedness kit.
- Identify the warning signs of an impending landslide.
- Create a household evacuation plan that includes your pets.
- Stay informed about your community's risk and response plans.
