Be Prepared Safety Fair
Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin invites you and your family to the annual Be Prepared Safety Fair! This free, family-friendly event brings together public safety agencies, community organizations and local experts to share resources on disaster preparedness, home hardening, emergency response and fraud prevention.
Attendees can enjoy interactive activities with safety vehicles, family entertainment, pet adoptions, and opportunities to give back through on-site blood donations, while also participating in informative presentations on protecting against scams and strengthening community safety.

Event Highlights
- Informational Booths on home hardening, disaster preparedness, medical emergencies, and more.
- Public Safety Demonstrations and "touch-a-truck" activities with vehicles from the Ventura County Fire Department, Ventura County Sheriff's Office, MRCA, Animal Control and additional agencies.
- Family Activities including face painting, K9 demonstrations and a pet adoption area.
- Community Giving with on-site blood donations hosted by Vitalant. Schedule an appointment below.

- 10:30 a.m. – Protect Yourself from Scams
The California Department of Financial Protection & Innovation will share strategies to safeguard against fraud. Learn how to identify and avoid common scams such as imposters, phishing and identity theft.
- 11:30 a.m. – Community Updates with the Chiefs
Thousand Oaks Police Department Chief Jeremy Paris and Ventura County Fire Department Division Chief Aviation and Wildland Jeff Shea will join Assemblymember Irwin for a panel discussion and Q&A on current public safety issues in Ventura County.
