Eric Potashner, Vice President & Senior Director of Strategic Affairs, Recology

Eric Potashner joined Recology’ Corporate team in 2012.  Eric is responsible for the government affairs, permitting and planning as well as community and media relations activities in the 3 states and over 100 communities where Recology operates.  Prior to joining Recology, Eric was a political consultant at Platinum Advisors (2008-2012) and worked as a Chief of Staff for State Senator Carole Migden in Sacramento (1999-2008).

Mary Pitto, Regulatory Affairs Advocate, Rural County Representatives of California

Mary Pitto joined the RCRC staff in 2002 and serves as a Regulatory Affairs Advocate, as well as the Program Manager for RCRC’s Environmental Services’ Joint Powers Authority (ESJPA). In her capacity as a Regulatory Affairs Advocate, Mary represents RCRC before various state agencies and regulatory bodies that have broad authority over land use and environmental policy. This includes air quality/diesel retrofit regulations, as well as a variety of other issues. As ESJPA Program Manager, Mary provides regulatory advocacy and gives participating counties technical assistance on the regulatory requirements of State and federal mandates regarding solid waste management and waste diversion goals. Mary served 19 years in California rural county government in Calaveras County where she was the Deputy Planning Director and then Senior Administrative Analyst. Mary holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Planning and Management from the University of California at Davis and a Master of Arts in (Wildlife) Biology from the California State University at Fresno.

Mark Schleich, Dir Public Works, Santa Barbara County

Mark Schleich is the Deputy Public Works Director and has been leading the effort to develop their AD/MRF project in the county

"Transitions to the Future" K-12 Resource Fair

Students and parents are invited to a K-12 Resource Fair to meet with representatives from K-higher education, apprenticeship programs, health services, afterschool recreation programs, referral sources, vocational programs, and trade schools.

All students, parents/guardians, and professionals are invited to attend.
