Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments:
Ellen Tauscher, 64, of San Francisco, has been appointed chair of the Governor's Military Council, where she has served as chair since 2013. Tauscher served as undersecretary of state for arms control and international security affairs at the U.S. Department of State from 2009 to 2012 and as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1997 to 2009. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Tauscher is a Democrat.
