Job Fair to highlight organizations hiring veterans
BACKGROUND: Assemblymember Irwin is partnering with the Ventura County Military Collaborative to co-host the 6th Annual Military Expo and Job Fair. This event will bring together organizations and government agencies that provide veterans with different services, including; VA Benefits, healthcare, counseling, legal help, employers, and a range of other programs.
This year, Assemblymember Irwin is hosting the job fair section of the expo. Local companies, organizations, and small to medium-sized businesses with job openings for veterans will be participating. Military veterans transitioning to civilian life can have a difficult time finding jobs once they leave the military. There will be 35 employers at the Expo looking for a few good men and women to complete their teams. Businesses will have information and contacts to help veterans and enlisted military with their immediate and future employment needs.
