(Thousand Oaks, CA) – Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin (D-Thousand Oaks) hosted a “Defeat the Drought” water conservation expo at the Civics Art Plaza to help area residents identify the most effective ways to reduce their water usage at home. Co-hosted by the City of Thousand Oaks, the event featured dozens of local businesses who specialize in conservation and a series of hands-on workshops to help water users evaluate the wide range of options available to make a conservation plan that works for them. “It’s going to take a big team effort,” said Assemblymember Irwin. “It’s going to be homeowners doing what they can do. And, we also need to come up with regional solutions.” Here’s more from the event in this Assembly Access video.
