(Thousand Oaks, CA) – Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin (D-Thousand Oaks) was joined by over 20 agencies and community organizations at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Park for a “Be Prepared” Safety Fair. Experts were there to answer questions on how to prepare for everything from major disasters to everyday emergencies. Demonstrations included: hands only CPR, how to use a fire extinguisher, proper bike helmet fittings and how to swim out of a riptide. The Assemblywoman believes part of her job as an elected representative is to present information to her constituents so that they will have the necessary tools to help ensure safer communities.
