THOUSAND OAKS  –  Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin has selected Food Share Ventura County as the 2020 California Nonprofit of the Year for the 44^th Assembly District.

SACRAMENTO – Assembly Bill 3242 authored by Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin (D – Thousand Oaks), was signed into law on Friday, September 25, 2020. This bill will allow 5150 and 5151 involuntary hold assessments, as required by the Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) Act, to now be conducted using telehealth.

SACRAMENTO –A bill protecting victims of natural disasters from an unexpected property tax increase was signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom this week.

SACRAMENTO – On Wednesday, September 9^th, Governor Newsom signed Assembly Bill 736, authored by Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin (D – Thousand Oaks), which will ensure that adjunct faculty are compensated fairly and treated as the exempt professionals that they are.

SACRAMENTO – AB 793 by Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin (D-Thousand Oaks) and Assemblymember Phil Ting (D-San Francisco) was approved in the Senate and sent to the Governor’s desk last night.

THOUSAND OAKS – Since May 2020 researchers from UCI, UCLA, California Lutheran University^, and 11Health have been collaborating with Ventura County agencies to determine the true prevalence of COVID-19 within the region.
