SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin (D-Thousand Oaks) announced she has secured funding in the California budget to make emergency repairs to the City of Oxnard’s wastewater treatment plant.

SACRAMENTO –Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin (D-Thousand Oaks) announced today she has selected Senior Concerns as her 2018 Nonprofit of the Year. Senior Concerns has been serving the residents of eastern Ventura county and western Los Angeles county since 1974 and is based in Thousand Oaks.

OXNARD – Earlier today, Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin hosted an event in Oxnard to announce $68.6 million dollars in funding for an overpass project at Rice Avenue and Fifth Street. This project will build a bridge at Rice Avenue over the train tracks in an area where several fatal train collisions have occurred.

SACRAMENTO – One of Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin’s (D-Thousand Oaks) key pieces of legislation this session, AB 2770,  which will help prevent future sexual harassment in the work place passed the Assembly earlier this week.

SACRAMENTO –Assembly Bill 2325 by Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin prevents a county from denying county mental or behavioral health services to an eligible veteran, regardless of whether that veteran might be covered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The bill passed the Assembly last week and now heads to the State Senate. 

SACRAMENTO – The California Legislative Women’s Caucus once again sponsored the annual “Woman of the Year” celebration, at the State Capitol, as part of Women’s History Month. Today, Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin (D-Thousand Oaks) honored Jill Lederer as her 2018 Assembly District 44 Woman of the Year.

SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin’s (D-Thousand Oaks) legislation AB 608, prohibiting credit reporting agencies from charging fees when parents or guardians freeze their children’s credit reports, is one step closer to becoming law.

Today, Governor Jerry Brown announced the signing of AB 705, which changes the way that community college students are placed in remedial courses at all 114 of California’s Community Colleges.  

SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin’s significant piece of legislation (AB 797) designed to extend Solar Thermal rebates for customers until 2020 was signed by the governor. The bill will go into effect at the beginning of 2018.
