SACRAMENTO – On the same week that the State Assembly adjourned in the memory of the Borderline shooting victims, Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin (D – Thousand Oaks) introduced a package of bills that will help keep firearms out of the hands of people who pose a threat to themselves or others.
SACRAMENTO — “When I requested this audit last year, I trusted that the state auditor would conduct a rigorous investigation, and the auditor’s discoveries reveal clear problems, as well as clear solutions,” said Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin, Chair of the Assembly Committee on Veterans Affairs.

SACRAMENTO – Today when the California State Assembly opened its 2019-2020 legislative session Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin introduced Assembly Bill 12 in response to the Borderline Shooting. Speaker Anthony Rendon referenced the Thousand Oaks shooting in his opening remarks to the body, empowering members to work to solve the pressing issues of their communities.
The bill is the first bill introduction for Assemblymember Irwin since being re-elected last month to her third term, and follows a month of mourning, remembrance, and contemplation since the shooting on November 7th. “This tragedy demands action, and I am working with our dedicated law enforcement and mental health professionals to identify changes to state law that will protect our community and all Californians from gun violence,” said Assemblymember Irwin.

SACRAMENTO – Assembly Bill 2377, authored by Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin (D-Thousand Oaks), was signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown last week. This bill funds technical assistance for farmers and ranchers seeking to transition to Climate Smart Agriculture.
